Nigel Simms from Top Secret Furniture in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, tells us why the Merlo 26.7 is the perfect machine for both their furniture businesses and their farm.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
We’re a family business – ‘Top Secret Furniture’, selling luxury furniture in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, alongside farming on a local farm in the area where we breed pedigree Limousin cattle, ‘The Simbo’ herd.
Have you always used Merlo telehandlers and did you try any competitive brands before purchasing the Merlo telehandler?
This is the first Merlo we’ve had but we previously had a JCB. The Merlo has a more suitable cab for us and a few of our family friends run a Merlo on their farms and rate them highly, that’s why we have tried and purchased the Merlo and we couldn’t be happier.
What do you like about the Merlo 27.6 Telehandler?
What can I say, it’s brilliant, it’s exactly what we were looking for. We use it every day if it’s on the farm or down at Top Secret Furniture. That’s what we wanted, something that could do both jobs and this sure does. It’s a compact machine but has a spacious cab at the same time, with astonishing space and visibility which is very important when it’s out on the farm and loading and unloading the furniture. We are very happy with it.
How have you found the process of dealing with RVW Pugh?
We have been very happy with the whole process from the first point of contact from looking at the Merlo, through to purchasing and the aftersales with Pugh’s. Their Holmes Chapel depot is only a mile from our Top Secret Furniture store, so if something did ever happen they’re not far from us which is an added bonus.
