Thieves have become an increasing problem in the agricultural industry with farmers finding equipment taken off their farms right under their noses. According to the NFU Rural Crime in 2016 cost the UK just over £39 million.

Not only costing a lot of money, it is also causing anxiety, stress and a feeling of being unsafe. It is not just farmers being targeted as more and more agricultural machinery dealerships across the country are reporting similar thefts. Mid-Wales dealer RVW Pugh Ltd has been the victim of not just one theft in the last year but a couple, from both their depot in Mid-Wales as well as their Holmes Chapel depot in Cheshire.

In the last few days this AGCO dealer has been targeted yet again, this time with specialist Fendt equipment being taken out of tractors worth in excess of £20,000. With the value of farm machinery increasing they are looked upon as an attractive target to thieves who may be sending these products overseas.  Farm Machinery dealers are fighting to stay afloat in a volatile industry such as agriculture and with acts such as these it puts more and more pressure on them. Dealers need to stick together and combat these individuals to make sure that we can all safeguard the future of these businesses.

Robert Pugh, Managing Director feels very passionate about the industry sticking together and stopping occurrences like this in the future. All Fendt dealers in the UK have been informed about these instances and it will not be tolerated!

Robert Pugh is offering a £5,000 reward for the recovery of goods or arrest of the individuals involved please share and spread the word!
